Our working groups include subject matter experts from across the ecosystem from crypto/digital assets, traditional financial services, legal and academic communities.
Filter Working Groups
The GDF Consumer Self-Certification working group will deliver a standard for a certification process for retail consumers buying more sophisticated investment products.
The standard will seek to ensure that consumers can demonstrate their own sophistication, and allow exchanges and wallets to demonstrate their responsibility in ensuring that users are qualified to use their products.

Private Markets Digitisation Steering Group
Covid-19 has created a capital gap, with tens of thousands of private companies simultaneously in need of rapidly distributed capital.
This joint initiative will develop recommendations on digitising the process of investing in SMEs and improving accessibility through an industry-wide digital securities network for private markets.Read more >
Joint Working Group on InterVASP Messaging Standards (JWG-IVMS)
This joint working group has developed messaging standards for exchange of originator and beneficiary information as required by the FATF travel rule.Read more >
The Interoperability Working Group will address the complexities of multi-jurisdictional policy enforcement for digital securities across different protocols, blockchains and legacy databases.
The participants will consider the requirements and implications of KYC/AML and The Travel Rule on transference, sharing and security of data.Read more >
The GDF Decentralised Finance Lending working group will draft GDF Code of Conduct principles to outline best practices for firms wishing to offer P2P services on a distributed ledger.
The Code of Conduct will cover areas such as consumer protection requirements, governance procedures and disclosure rules.Read more >
The Digital Currency working group will focus on how governments can provide payments using modern, digital technologies.
In response to the Covid-19 crisis this group will create a short paper offering considerations for policymakers as they assess the current response and plan future legislative and administrative actions.Read more >
Digital Asset Market Practices
The GDF Digital Asset Market Practice working group will evaluate emergent liquid, non-securities, digital asset execution, pre-trade, post-trade, and custody best practices through the lens of established financial marketplaces. Participants come from established Financial Institutions and relevant Professional Services Firms.Read more >

The KYC/AML/CTF working group is comprised of both cryptoasset and traditional financial services compliance, legal and regulatory practitioners, who articulate best practices in the areas of customer due diligence and the prevention of financial crime associated with money laundering and terrorist financing.Read more >
The Custody working group delivered the GDF Code of Conduct: Part IX: Principles for Custody – Custodial Wallets in 2019.
The group is now collectively working on a custody regulatory roadmap, as well keeping up-to-date with the various initiatives around the adoption of the FATF Travel Rule.Read more >
