Part V: Principles for Token Comparisons and Rating Websites

We continue our series looking in more detail at the Code of Conduct, created in collaboration with the GDF community. The fifth part of the Code outlines the formal principles for token comparisons and rating websites which are aimed at establishing and maintaining credibility and accountability.

The Code aims to ensure that the needs of the customer are served to the highest standard by ensuring the rating websites which subscribe to the Code are built to help purchasers find the best prices possible and are clear and unbiased, displaying token comparisons in an objective, transparent, and fact-based manner.

Consumer first

The GDF Community is committed to establishing a positive consumer experience, ensuring that the terminology and features on the website enable users to make informed decisions on token purchases. A user manual will be issued explaining all the key features, including the characteristics of cryptoassests and consumer protections.

Also from an accuracy and integrity perspective, all comparisons will be based on clear and quality data readily available for purchasers to view. Entities that adhere to the Code will  compare data across a representative number of data providers and crypotassests, as well as provide full disclosure on when the data was last updated.

The present principles include the matters that the GDF Community believes to be the most material. However, as the industry continues to evolve, so will the principles in order to reflect all the latest developments. The GDF Code of Conduct is, therefore, a living document, and GDF is open to feedback from the Community on what additional matters should be included.
