With the FCA’s Financial Promotions Regime for Cryptoassets coming into force on October 8th, and the FCA issuing 146 alerts in first 24 hours, there has been a lot of chatter about the potential impact of the regime. We have put together a 5 minute explainer setting out what the regime is, what is its purpose, and how firms can prepare.
Presenting material that is clear, fair, and not misleading to consumers is consistent with FCA expectations for firms across financial services, not only for the cryptoasset industry.
As this will apply to most if not all firms who are providing or offering cryptoasset services to a UK consumer, firms should reach out to the FCA if they have questions or concerns to ensure they are meeting their obligations under the new laws.
